| March for
Jesus date: May 22, 1999 Route: The march starts at Diamond Head end of Ala Moana Park. Then the marchers go down Ala Moana Boulevard, then down Kalakaua Avenue. The march ends up at the Waikiki Shell in Kapiolani Park. Our plan: Create the most
exciting March for Jesus that Hawaii has ever seen.
March times: The pre-march program begins at 8 am. The march begins at 9 am. The estimated march time is two hours with a program of praise and celebration at the end. |
Attendance:
Our goal is 20,000 marchers. Gathered together with as many ethnic banners, flags and
displays as possible. Hawaiis March will reflect the ethnic diversity of the
Islands. As we March with our banners (in Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Hawaiian, etc.) we
will declare both the Lordship of Jesus Christ and also His great love toward us. At Kapiolani Park: As we come to the end of the March at Kapiolani Park with the Music playing through loud speakers and boom boxes. The Marchers will assemble before the stage standing on the Name of Jesus mapped out ten to fifteen or more across with the other marchers to circle around. This will be photographed from the air and shared as a witness to local and national news media. Goals: Building a
sense of ownership among churches. |
