Prayer Rally
This event will be on May 8, 1999 Saturday, 9 am to 11 PM at the grassy area (closest
to the parking lot) of Magic Island in Ala Moana Beach Park.
Let us declare His praise in the islands and prepare the way of the Lord, so He may be
lifted up and draw all men unto Him on May 22nd, the day of actual March for Jesus.
Come join us at Magic Island at 9 AM as we pray over the area where the March will
begin and seek the Lord's directions for the March.
Let us "Sing to the Lord, bless His name; proclaim the good news of His salvation
from day to day." Let us "declare His glory among the nations, His wonders
among all peoples. For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised. He is to
be feared above all gods." (Psalm 96: 2-4) See you there.

Prayer Walk
This event is scheduled for Friday night, on May 21, 1999 at 5:30 PM.
The Route
We will be starting at Magic Island in Ala Moana Beach Park and proceed down toward
Waikiki via Ala Moana Boulevard then onto Kalakaua Avenue to Kapiolani Park and then onto
Monsarrat Avenue on into the Waikiki Shell.
The Purpose of Prayer Walking
To prepare the way for the March. Graham Kendrick and Steve Hawthorne in their
book Prayer Walking: Praying on Site with Insight, states the following:
"prayer walking prepares the way for praise marching. The March for Jesus
can be biblically defined as a procession up to Jerusalem. God's people from many
tribes together draw near to his dwelling place, celebrating a special festival.
They give the Lord the glory of which he is worthy." Prayer walking, on the
other hand can be described biblically as a walk around Jericho, in contrast to a
procession around Jerusalem. Prayer walking helps believers to step into the place
of serving and healing in the community that God is granting them" (page 200).
For fruitful prayer walking the following are important:
- Worship of God
- Warfare against evil
- A Welcome to Christ's kingdom into peoples hearts
All three components should be present as well as unity within the Body during prayer
walking.
In anticipation of the actual March for Jesus for our Islands, it would be helpful to
do some preliminary preparation before the March on May 22, 1999.

How can I help prepare for the March?
Pray for the March and you may want to consider doing or joining a group of people to
prayer walk the route ahead of time.
